KIM1 Uplink Module by Kinéis

KIM1 is a low-power transmitter module based on ARGOS-2/Kinéis waveforms and fully certified by Kinéis and the French Space Agency (CNES). It enables communication with all the ARGOS/Kinéis polar satellites to provide satellite connectivity, data collection and Doppler localization (GPS-free) for IoT devices. The use of ARGOS/KINEIS-RF signals and protocols ensures very low power consumption and a global coverage. Use it with the KIM1&2 Shield board in order to ease integration.

 

KIM2 Uplink/Downlink Module by Kinéis

KIM2 is a low-power transmitter+receiver module based on ARGOS-2/Kinéis waveforms and fully certified by Kinéis and the French Space Agency (CNES). It enables communication with all the ARGOS/Kinéis polar satellites to provide satellite connectivity, data collection and Doppler localization (GPS-free) for IoT devices. The Receiver is compatible with Kinéis Downlink (~401Mhz) signal from the Kinéis constellation The use of ARGOS/KINEIS -RF signals and protocols ensures very low power consumption and a global coverage. Use it with the KIM1&2 Shield board in order to ease integration.

KIM1&2 Shield EvalBoard by Kinéis

KIM1 &2 shield boards are designed to make integration of the KIM1&2 module much easier.

It is specifically designed to use Kinéis modules and start transmitting in few minutes. Its dimensions are 8.5cm x 5.56cm x 1.8cm and is stackable on the Arduino Uno board or STM32Nucleo board. You can also connect directly to your Computer via an USB port.

ARTIC (R3) Chipset by AnSem

The ARTIC (Argos Receiver Transmitter with Integrated Control) is an integrated low power small size ARGOS 2/3/4 single chip radio. ARTIC-R3 implements a message based wireless interface. For satellite uplink communication, ARTIC will encode, modulate and transmit provided user messages. For downlink communication, ARTIC will lock to the downstream, demodulate and decode it and extract the satellite messages.

Any design using R3 chipset will need to go through the Kinéis certification process.

STM32WL  Kinéis Reference Design (KRD)

Kinéis provides a reference design for the integration of the STM32WL55 chip in a Kinéis transmitter and in a simple connected device.

The Demo device consists in a single PCB holding the transmitter, a battery and a tuned UHF antenna. It was designed to fit inside a tube-shaped device including the internal antenna. The casing, printed in 3D, is not included in the reference design documentation.
The KRD exist in 2 different configurations, Low power at ~22dbm and Medium Power version with a Power Amplifier for ~27dbm

Any design copy of this KRD device will need to go through the Kinéis certification process.

MELOA Modem (Uplink/Downlink Argos-3) – limited serie

MELOA Modem has been developed to provide easy access to Argos-3 Downlink usage for remote commands (Mobile Terminated )

This Modem is able to receive and acknowledge command from the two Argos-3 active Downlink (Saral & Metop-C). Received msg will be stored into a table that your main system will be able to read via AT command.
All modem parameters such as power , repetition period , frequency, etc. are remotely configurable.

The Modem also manage the recovery of sat Orbital parameter and Status in order to calculate satellites passes and only transmit during their presence (OPPO mode )

On the Uplink part, this modem is compatible for LDA2, LDA3, VLDA4 modulations and a wide range of power output levels , from 250mw to 3W.

KENWOOD ARGOS-3 PMT-K

The PMT is designed to communicate as a modem with the Argos-2&3 satellite constellation. Capabilities include two-way communication on ARGOS-3 (466Mhz), transmission of greater data volume and high data rate. It can also operates as an Argos-2 transmistter.

As firmware is open-sourced , it allows you to tune your solution adding any external sensor using I2C or UART interfaces. IMU/accelerometer can also be fitted.
